 Sales Internship - Veterinary Channel


Sales Internship - Veterinary Channel

This internship will help you learn about the veterinary industry while focusing on hitting sales objectives. You will begin this program with an orientation and overview of an assigned territory that you will be managing along with your supervisor. Following your initial training, you will provide nutritional training to the veterinary clinics and animal hospitals with your supervisor and mentor. You will also begin working independently in the field by making calls and collaborating with distributor representatives to educate veterinary staff about the company and Nestlé Purina products. The final phase of the internship will be to complete a presentation and participate in final evaluations and interviews with your director, supervisor and mentor. During the entire internship, you will be able to work independently out of your home office, which provides a strong sense of autonomy, while working as a member of a strategic team.

    • Identify opportunities within specific veterinary clinics to build sales
    • Sell Purina products into accounts
    • Conduct training for veterinary clinical staff
    • Manage and make recommendations on inventory levels at veterinary clinics
    • Identify and analyze industry trends
  • Full time opportunity
    • You will be expected to make meaningful and measurable contributions to our business during the summer, and where successful, we will make full time offers of employment to interns, with the goal of developing them into our future leaders.

  • Associates who have started their career in Veterinary Sales have taken a variety of paths within the organization. Typically, Veterinary Sales Consultants seek out management opportunities. These positions include Field Operations Managers, as well as Regional Managers, which may lead into a Zone Director position.

    • Brett began his career with Nestlé Purina as a Veterinary Sales Consultant covering the Houston-South territory. In his three years as a Veterinary Sales Consultant, Brett gained extensive training and discovered ways to impact the business. Brett was promoted to a Regional Manager role. As a Regional Manager, Brett is currently able to lead and grow other Veterinary Sales Consultants while remaining close to the selling process.
